Blessings & Legacy: UCA’s 2022 Celebration of Black History Month

  • The theme for this year’s Celebration of Black History Month is Blessings & Legacy. The history of African Americans is one of generational blessings and a positive legacy. African Americans have long valued the power of words (spoken blessings) and the importance of leaving an inheritance for the next generation. This month, students will be encouraged to receive the blessings available to them in their history, as well as be encouraged to leave behind a legacy for those who will come after them.

  • POETRY SLAM | This year’s Poetry Slam will be held on Thursday, February 24 from 10-10:50a. While this is primarily a student event, a few spots are open to parents in the UCA community who wish to write an original piece of poetry, recite an existing work of poetry, OR deliver another creative arts presentation. If you have a desire to participate in the Poetry Slam, email Mr. Harrison at sharrison@weareuca.org. All parents are invited to attend the Poetry Slam. See flyer below.
