Please note the modest time change from previous communications. Students must report to their designated room by no later than 9:00a. Students will be dismissed at 3:15p. The building will open and close at its normal times for students who need to arrive early/leave late.

Thursday, April 14 | Maundy Thursday Chapel
This Thursday, UCA will hold its final Lent Chapel. As a Christian school community, we have observed Lent over four chapels, starting with a special Ash Wednesday Chapel, then three regular chapels, each dedicated to one aspect of our theme (Rent Hearts, Ready Hands, and Renewed Lives), and now ending with a Maundy Thursday Chapel.
During this Thursday’s chapel, we will hold a foot washing ceremony, in which students will be invited to have their feet washed by a member of UCA’s faculty/staff. As with the imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday, this is an optional portion of the service for all students. Following a sermon on John 13 (in which Jesus washes the disciples’ feet), any student who wishes to have their feet washed will simply be invited to come forward. Male faculty/staff will wash male student’s feet, and female faculty/staff will wash female student’s feet. This simple, yet powerful act is a meaningful symbol of servant leadership and love for one another.

Our final open house of the year is next Thursday, April 21 at 6p. To date, there are more families in our admissions pipeline than ever in our history. It is not too late, however, to invite a family you know who is considering high-quality, Christ-centered education for their graduating 8th grader, or current high schooler, to visit us for this important open house. Friday, April 22 | Module 5 Ends
Monday, April 25 - Friday, April 29, 9:30a-2:30p (every day) | A-Term
A-Term (or April Term) is a mini-learning term in which students take a deep dive into learning in a unique area. This is a required week of attendance for all students as A-Term credits are a UCA graduation requirement. Students made their course selections last week and official rosters were posted around the building last Friday.

Friday, May 6 | Prom
Prom VIP Gala 2022 is coming soon! Prom will be held for juniors and seniors on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Glenwood Oaks from 7-11:30 P.M. A full course meal, entertainment, dessert, and photos are included in the ticket price. We encourage all senior and junior students to attend! It will be a time to honor our seniors, as they will be embarking on new journeys soon and passing the torch to the junior class. Tickets are $40/person and are on sale during lunch. The first-ever graduation ceremony of Unity Christian Academy will be held on Friday, June 10 at 10:00a in the sanctuary at the new home of UCA (700 E. 170th St., South Holland, IL). All are welcome to join us for a momentous celebration of the Class of 2022, the groundbreaking, first-ever graduating class in the history of Unity Christian Academy.

Intercessory Prayer Team:
UCA is launching an Intercessory Prayer Team. If you would like to join, please email Mr. Okuley at nokuley@weareuca.org.
The Prayer Team will meet as the group is able, up to once a week, at a time that works for the group.
The team will intercede in prayer on behalf of the UCA community generally, and as appropriate, for specific needs.
